Farming Innovation Programme (FIP)]
Defra’s Farming Innovation Programme is offering £25 million in funding through two competitions: Precision Breeding and Low Emissions Farming.
- Precision Breeding Competition: This £12.5 million competition supports collaborative research into precision-bred crops that can improve yield, reduce chemical inputs, and enhance disease resistance.
- Low Emissions Farming Competition: Another £12.5 million competition focuses on innovative ways to reduce on-farm emissions, including regenerative farming practices, energy efficiency, and biogas production.
An in-person consortium-building and briefing event for the precision breeding is being held on 01 May 2025 and is currently open for registrations at Innovate UK Business Connect.
