Defra Launches Replacement for PLANET v3.3 and MANNER‑NPK
The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) has launched a new, free online nutrient planning tool, NMPT‑GB (Nutrient Management Planning Tool for Great Britain).
This online tool replaces the existing PLANET (Planning Land Applications of Nutrients for Efficiency and the Environment) v3.3 and MANNER‑NPK (Manure Nutrient Evaluation Routine – Nitrogen, Phosphate and Potash) nutrient management planning tools.
NMPT‑GB helps farmers create, update and improve nutrient management plans. It incorporates the latest guidance from the AHDB (Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board) Nutrient Management Guide (RB209), along with Scottish Technical Notes.
The tool is now available for use in England and Wales. Further releases later this year will extend availability to Scotland and introduce additional functionality, including the ability to import data from PLANET.
RSK ADAS, the software developer, will host a user webinar on Wednesday 4 March. You can register for the session here.
