Leading assurance schemes out for consultation
23 October 2015
Two of the assurance schemes run by the Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) – UFAS, the Universal Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS) and the Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops (TASCC) - are currently out for consultation on updated scheme documents.
Both schemes are operated by AIC through AIC Services. They are part of a series of schemes that provide assurance across the supply chain from field to fork, and integrate seamlessly with other industries schemes such as Red Tractor and BRC (British Retail Consortium).
John Kelley, Managing Director of AIC Services said: “An important part of the role which AIC plays is to manage these schemes and ensure that they are kept up-to-date in a market which is highly dynamic. In the face of constant change, we must ensure that our schemes are meeting the needs of everyone in the supply chain and keeping pace with any legislative change.”
UFAS deals with the production and delivery of compounds feeds and the supply of feeds to the farm. TASCC deals with what happens to grains and pulses when they leave the farm to the end user.
