Webinar: National Dangerous Goods Awareness Day (10 July)

The British Association of Dangerous Goods Professionals (BADGP) is offering a free webinar for this year’s National Dangerous Goods Awareness Day on Thursday, 10 July 2025, from 13:00 to 14:30.

The transport of dangerous goods requires the services of a competent person to identify which specific rules and conditions apply to a business’s activities. National Dangerous Goods Awareness Day 2025 will help any business understand what is required and who is qualified to provide it.

The day centres around the webinar, which will examine the legal requirement for all businesses that consign or transport dangerous goods to appoint a Dangerous Goods Competent Person or Safety Adviser (DGSA).

There will also be the publication of free-to-use posters and toolbox talks to help businesses communicate the necessary safety messages associated with the consigning and carriage of dangerous goods.

Why Attend?

This webinar is particularly relevant for those involved in the haulage or consignment of fertiliser products. It will support compliance with Accord Dangereux Routier (ADR) and Fertiliser Industry Assurance Scheme (FIAS) standards, clarify DGSA responsibilities for both hauliers and office-based consignors, and help prevent common breaches such as improper parking or documentation gaps. Attendance will also reinforce awareness needed to maintain low-risk ratings under the Department for Transport’s Earned Recognition scheme.

Attendance at the webinar is free to both BADGP members and non-members.
