AIC publishes manifesto in readiness for 2024 General Election

AIC has published its 2024 General Election manifesto, explaining the agri-supply industry's role and value to the wider UK food supply chain.

The manifesto tells MPs and prospective parliamentary candidates standing for election what agri-supply businesses need from the next UK Government.

Last year AIC surveyed Members to better understand their political priorities and consulted its Committees on what its manifesto should achieve on behalf of the agri-supply industry.

As a result, AIC is asking the next UK Government to:

  1. Deliver on the "Powering Productivity for Sustainable UK Food Security" report recommendation of an independent UK Food Security Committee
  2. Address policy divergence between the UK and EU, as well as within the UK home nations
  3. Standardise sustainability metrics

For full details and to download a PDF copy of the manifesto, please visit AIC's 2024 General Election webpage or click below. Versions of the manifesto for AIC Cymru and AIC Scotland are also available.

Members are encouraged to use AIC's manifesto to highlight the value and significance of the agri-supply industry and to get across the asks of a future Government when meeting with MPs and prospective parliamentary candidates in the run-up to the next General Election.

Read a blog post by AIC Chief Executive Robert Sheasby to find out more about AIC's work in advance of a General Election and how Members can support this.
