AIC launches new Register for Trade Assurance Scheme Consultants

Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) has launched the Trade Assurance Consultant Register (TACR) to help agri-supply businesses that need advice and support from consultants and advisers in relation to their trade assurance schemes for feed and food safety (UFAS, FEMAS and TASCC), fertiliser safety and security (FIAS), seed quality (ESTA), and the Renewable Energy Directive (RED).

The new TACR recognises that different skills and knowledge are required to provide advice on each scheme. Registered consultants will benefit from the provision of information relevant to the schemes they support, access to available i-learning, use of the TACR logo, an ID card, and the promotion of their business to relevant new clients.

To join the TACR, consultants agree to abide by a professional standards code when delivering their services. Membership and website information is renewable annually with a fee payable for non-AIC Members.

Existing trade assurance scheme participants or those considering joining a scheme will benefit by having one place to find providers of consultancy and advice related to their specific scheme, and access to contact details, with the confidence that a professional service will be provided by consultants who are up to date with the schemes and relevant information.

John Kelley, AIC Chief Operating Officer, and Managing Director of AIC Services, which runs the register, said, “The agri-supply industry asked us to launch a register of consultants so that participants can be sure that any advice received is from a registered adviser. The TACR will meet this need. We look forward to consultants joining this register to ensure that advice is robust and meets the requirements of scheme participants.”
