Addressing the risks from Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Report Published

The House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee has concluded its inquiry into the risks posed by perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The final report, published on 23 April 2026, features AIC’s written and oral evidence.

The report highlights the growing focus on PFAS and the need for a proportionate, evidence‑based approach to managing risks across the food and agricultural supply chain. It also notes that farming activities have not been identified as the main source of PFAS contamination, and that the sector has a shared interest in protecting human health, the environment and food security.

AIC will review the report in detail and continue to engage constructively with Government and regulators as this work develops. AIC will share further updates with Members once its detailed review is complete.
