AIC appoints new Policy Manager to shape forward-thinking agenda

11 February 2020

AIC is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Pearson as Policy Manager. Andrew’s role will involve working across all five sectors of AIC, analysing the latest information and data in order to develop solutions for the most pressing issues facing agri-supply businesses and UK agriculture.

Taking over from Dave Freeman, Andrew is the latest appointee to the policy team at AIC, who work with Government and stakeholders to find more sustainable ways to balance food production and environmental progress. Andrew will bring extensive experience and expertise to his new role, having worked as a Land Quality and Estates Manager for over 7 years. Combined with his previous roles as a Contaminated Land Officer and Environmental Health Technician, Andrew holds a long record of delivering projects to minimise health, safety and environmental risk and promote sustainability.

As Policy Manager, Andrew will assist in building AIC’s intellectual property and meeting the policy objectives determined by members through AIC’s committees etc. In his role, Andrew will also ensure members have access to important information on current trends in support of policy objectives.

In addition to maintaining AIC’s evidence-based profile, Andrew will identify key opportunities for adding value to AIC member businesses, as well as assisting with smoothly communicating policy requests with the appropriate stakeholders.

“We’re delighted to have Andrew on board,” says Robert Sheasby, Chief Executive at AIC. “UK agriculture is currently in a state of great change and uncertainty. Careful development of AIC policy is absolutely vital to ensure our member business’ continued success. Andrew will be a valuable asset both for AIC and its members at this time of transformation, helping to ensure our involvement in creating a policy agenda that is sustainable, productive, and forward-thinking.”
