Updated FEMAS Calculator and Sector Notes published

2021-0234

The first phase of an updated version of the FEMAS Calculator is now available to FEMAS participants to view when they log in to their FEMAS participant portal, hosted by Kiwa. The new update includes all feed materials in the current EU Catalogue of Feed Materials with changed risk assessment ratings for some feed materials and revised calculations to establish the minimum testing requirements.

Use of the new Calculator for feed materials will be compulsory from 1st February 2022, and the previous version of the Calculator will remain available until that date.

A further update to the Calculator is under development to cover feed materials not included in the Catalogue, feed additives and mixtures, and this will be launched as soon as possible in 2022.

To aid participants in using the Calculator, a new Sector Note 18 has been published.

As a result of some of the changes to the testing requirements within the Calculator, updated versions of the following Sector Notes have been published:

As with previous FEMAS documents changes to the text are highlighted in blue.
