Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Action Plan

The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) will introduce phased requirements from August 2026, affecting UK exporters placing packaged goods on the EU and Northern Ireland market.

A High Court judgment on 4 June 2026 found that the decision to introduce the Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Regulations 2025 (the Regulations) was affected by a procedural error in how powers were understood, rather than the substance of the policy.
