AIC Meets Scottish Government Representatives in Brussels
AIC recently met with representatives from the Scottish Government office in Brussels to discuss key policy developments affecting the agri-supply sector.
During the visit, AIC Head of Policy and External Affairs, Ed Barker, met with Head of Sustainability, Laura-Louise O'Reilly, and Deputy Director Nick Leake, who represent Scotland in the EU.
Discussions covered a range of shared priorities, including the UK–EU Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) agreement, pesticides and active substances, the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), and developments in precision breeding in the UK and EU.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss AIC’s work in Brussels and how the organisation can continue to engage with partners to reflect the views and interests of AIC Members in Scotland.
The visit forms part of AIC’s ongoing engagement with stakeholders in Brussels to monitor EU policy developments and maintain dialogue on issues relevant to Members, especially as the SPS agreement progresses.
Thank you to Laura and Nick for taking the time to meet and for the open and constructive discussion.
