AIC Hosts European Former Food Processors for UK Visit

IMG_8253.JPG

The Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) recently hosted members of the European Former Foodstuff Processors Association (EFFPA), bringing together industry representatives to share insights and discuss developments within the former food and animal feed sectors.

The visit, held from 9–11 June 2026 in Manchester, included a programme of meetings, a site visit, and networking opportunities, providing a platform for collaboration between UK and European stakeholders.

A joint EFFPA, representing former food processors at European level and working alongside the European Feed Manufacturers' Federation (FEFAC), and UK Former Food Processors Association (UKFFPA) networking event opened the programme, allowing participants to exchange views on key industry topics and explore opportunities for closer cooperation. The session included presentations from AIC, EFFPA and UKFFPA representatives, followed by a topical quiz and informal discussion.

The second day of the visit included the EFFPA Board and Annual General Assembly, alongside a site visit to AIC Member and UK Former Food Processors Association (UKFFPA) member SugaRich. AIC would like to thank SugaRich for hosting attendees and providing a practical overview of how former food products are safely repurposed into animal feed, supporting a circular approach to food and feed supply chains.

The visit forms part of ongoing collaboration between AIC, UKFFPA and EFFPA to promote the safe, sustainable and efficient use of former foodstuffs within animal feed.
