BR20-002 UK sets out FTA plans for regulatory equivalence 20 Jan 2020
Over the weekend there were a number of press reports on the UK Government position regarding the intention to cease regulatory alignment with the EU from the end of the transition period, 31 st December 2020.
BR20-001 Revised Agriculture Bill introduced to Parliament 17 Jan 2020
The Government has, as promised, published a draft Agriculture Bill which started its Parliamentary journey on 16 th January, with the intention that it receives the Royal Assent during the first half of the year. A copy of the Bill is attached for information.
BR19-035 New Government sets out its stall 17 Dec 2019
With a Queen’s speech set for 19 th December and the return of the EU Withdrawal Bill to the Commons before Christmas, the new Government is taking every step to ensure domestic legislation is in place well ahead of the January 31 st deadline. This would also give the European Parliament the time to give its view which, we must remember, is also part of the exit process from an EU perspective.
BR19-034 Brexit pushed back- again! 29 Oct 2019
With the EU and No.10 confirming yesterday, 28 th October, a further extension to 31 st January 2020 (with possible earlier cut-offs), the previous deadline of 31 st October is now defunct and the UK carries on being a full member of the EU until one of the new deadlines of end November, December or January, kicks in.

Ahead of 31 st October the Government continues to produce both new and updated advice notes on a wide range of no-deal issues, some relating to specific product areas, others of more general business advice. BR19-029 Brexit Webinars 11 Oct 2019
AIC is preparing to hold a Brexit webinar for members at 9am on Wednesday 23 rd October. This is obviously after the European Council of Ministers meeting to be held on 17 th and 18 th October and the special sitting of Parliament on 19 th October when there will either be a vote on a potential deal or the Prime Minister will be required to write to the EU requesting a further extension, beyond 31 st October.
