The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published a revised leaflet on the Employers' Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969 for employers.
General G06-018 - New Dioxin limits in Feed and Feed Materials 15 Feb 2006
The Commission has published a new Directive (2006/13/EC) which revises maximum limits for dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs in feed and feed materials. The Commission is aiming to reduce maximum permitted levels of these contaminants over time and will, by the end of 2008, both reduce levels and move to a single limit for these contaminants.

There is a vacancy on the Board of Crop Evaluation Ltd, for someone to represent the interests of the grain and seed multiplication and distribution industry. This follows the standing down of the previous AIC nominated person.

A new Commission Regulation has now been published which finally brings in a simplified means of obtaining germination derogations. This is something AIC and Defra have been seeking for some while.

Feed F06-021 - The TSE Regulations (England) 2006 14 Feb 2006
The Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy (TSE) Regulations (England) 2006 have been published and are to be brought into force on 1 March 2006 (reference Member Briefing F05-074). Separate but parallel legislation is being brought into operation in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
General G06-016 - Arbitration in Practice - A Training Course for Approved and Aspirant Arbitrators 14 Feb 2006
This one day course is designed to fulfil the annual training requirement placed on AIC Approved, Probationary and Trainee Arbitrators. The course is also open to those who have an interest in the workings of arbitration or aspire to be Arbitrators but have not yet entered the training programme.
