Update to Fees for Approval of Non-FIAS Contractors and Merchant Customers
Within Clause G16 of the Fertiliser Industry Assurance Scheme (FIAS) Standard, FIAS Participants may apply for a derogation to use non-FIAS contractors for storage and transport, and non-FIAS merchant customers.
Approval is issued by the FIAS certification body, Kiwa Agri Food, following submission of an audit by the contracting Participant for assessment. For storage facilities, this includes an inspection of the premises.
Kiwa maintains a list of approved non-FIAS contractors and merchant customers. This list is updated regularly and serves as the reference for current approval status. It also provides information for auditors when reviewing annual audits of approved non-FIAS contractors conducted by Participants as part of the routine FIAS compliance audit.
Fees for the initial review, reporting and administration of the scheme have been updated and will apply from 1 October 2026.

For new non-FIAS contractor or merchant customer approval: £110 + vat

For the maintenance of approvals in subsequent years, an annual fee will be invoiced at renewal based on the total number of approved non-FIAS contractors and merchant customers held by a Participant:

Band 1: 1–5 contractors/merchant customers £35 + vat

Band 2: 5–10 contractors/merchant customers £50 + vat

Band 3: 10–20 contractors/merchant customers £62 + vat

Band 4: 20–30 contractors/merchant customers £83 + vat

Band 5: >30 contractors/merchant customers £93 + vat
