Government responds to Climate Change Committee’s 2023 progress report

The Government has responded to the Climate Change Committee’s (CCC’s) 2023 report on progress in adapting to climate change and its recommendations on adaptation.
Following the publication of the CCC report, which was published in March, the Government has given its response to all recommendations and what actions it has taken over the last two years.
The Government sets out detailed responses to each of the CCC’s 94 recommendations, including the priority recommendations identified by the Committee, highlighting areas where progress has been made to adapt to climate risks over the past two years.
The response reiterates existing policy commitments, such as publishing a land use framework supported by spatial evidence and analysis, targets to restore or create 140,000ha of wildlife-rich habitats outside protected sites by 2028 (compared with 2022), and including the food supply chain in the scope of the Adaptation Reporting Power fourth round.
Full details of the response can be found on the GOV.UK website.
