EU-UK Summit to Take Place in Brussels

UK and EU leaders will meet in Brussels on 20 November 2026 for the second EU-UK Summit, with trade and regulatory cooperation among the areas expected to be discussed.

The summit follows the first EU-UK Summit, held in London in 2025, and will provide an opportunity to review progress in the relationship and discuss future cooperation.

Discussions are expected to cover a broad range of areas, including agrifood rules, climate, defence and security, energy, people-to-people contacts, migration and law enforcement.

Of particular relevance to AIC and its Members will be any further developments on EU-UK agrifood or sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) rules, energy and the wider trading relationship.

Changes to the regulatory relationship could have practical implications for businesses operating across agricultural supply chains, particularly those trading with the EU or between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

AIC continues to engage with Government departments and provide evidence on the practical considerations for agricultural supply businesses as discussions progress.

Following the summit, AIC has organised a Members-only webinar on Friday 27 November to consider the outcomes and what they could mean in practice for Members.

AIC’s key priorities for an EU-UK SPS agreement are available here.
