Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Action Plan Progress Report

Businesses are being reminded of the importance of continued vigilance and biosecurity following new cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in Great Britain and developments in foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) overseas.

Following an assessment, Great Britain has lifted the import restrictions that were implemented in June 2025 due to an outbreak of lumpy skin disease (LSD) in France.

UK and EU leaders will meet in Brussels on 20 November 2026 for the second EU-UK Summit, with trade and regulatory cooperation among the areas expected to be discussed.
