AIC Joins NFU Roundtable on Current Farming Challenges
AIC was invited at short notice to join a meeting with the National Farmers' Union (NFU) this morning to hear concerns about the pressures farmers and growers are facing following the impact of the Iran conflict, the drought and the bluetongue virus affecting livestock in recent weeks. Collectively, these challenges are impacting farmer confidence and resilience.
The roundtable was attended by a number of stakeholders from across the agricultural supply chain, who recognised the challenges facing farmers and growers, as well as the wider supply chain.
The press release below reflects that AIC was present at the meeting and expressed support for exploring ways to mitigate the impacts currently being felt across agriculture.
