AIC Attends Liberal Democrat Party Conference
AIC Chief Executive Robert Sheasby attended the Liberal Democrat Party Conference in Brighton on 21 September as part of AIC's ongoing programme of political engagement across the party conference season.
Throughout the day, Robert met and shared AIC priorities with policymakers, parliamentarians and stakeholders, while attending a range of conference sessions, receptions and fringe events. Discussions covered a variety of policy areas relevant to the wider economy, food production and the agricultural supply chain.
One of the key items on the conference agenda is a food security paper, which is due to be debated by delegates today. The paper highlights the importance of food security alongside environmental objectives and argues for greater support for domestic agricultural production.
AIC will continue to engage with political parties across the conference season to monitor policy developments and represent the interests of the agricultural supply industry.
