New Chief Executive announced for the Agricultural Industries Confederation

10 January 2018

Robert Sheasby, currently NFU Regional Director for East Anglia, has been appointed to become Chief Executive of the leading agri-supply trade association AIC.

Mr Sheasby will bring a wealth of experience in agriculture, politics and education to the post, which he will take on later in 2018. He has been an NFU Regional Director in both the North West and East Anglia, thus has experienced contrasting types of agriculture. His role has meant he has had to engage with a wide range of stakeholders from UK and European politicians to various agencies and research organisations involved in the countryside. He is also a governor of Easton and Otley College.

"AIC is delighted to have secured Robert - with his wealth of experience in the industry - to take on the role of Chief Executive," said AIC Chairman Nick Major. "He will succeed David Caffall, who was the Confederation's first CEO and who has successfully developed AIC to its leading position within the agricultural industry today."
David Caffall will remain at AIC in the newly created part-time post of Policy Director.
