Training courses supporting the AIC Services Trade Assurance Schemes - FEMAS, TASCC, and UFAS, are now available to book for the coming months.

Courses Available

FEMAS Participant Training

Duration: 2 Morning Sessions

Who should attend: Technical Managers, Production Managers and site personnel who are responsible for compliance with the FEMAS Standard and general feed safety. The course would be particularly beneficial to those responsible for quality management systems.

Course summary: The introduction of FEMAS 2024 has brought a need for training in the new Standard and the changes to requirements. The course is designed to equip delegates with the skills and knowledge to successfully implement the changes to the Standard on-site.

The syllabus includes:
  • The FEMAS Standard

  • Introduction

  • Raw Materials

  • Trading

  • Suppliers of Subcontracted Services

  • Sales

  • Premises

  • Equipment

  • Personnel

  • Own Transport

  • Operations

  • Sampling and Analysis

  • Complaints

  • Recalls

  • Feed Safety Controls

  • Traceability

 A training certificate will be awarded to delegates who successfully complete the course and multiple-choice test.

FEMAS Participant Update Training

Duration: Half Day Remote Session

Who should attend: Technical Managers, Production Managers and site personnel who are responsible for compliance with the FEMAS Standard and general feed safety. The course would be particularly beneficial to those responsible for quality management systems.

Course summary: The introduction of FEMAS 2024 has brought a need for training in the new Standard and the changes to requirements.This half day course highlights the changes which have been made between the FEMAS 19 and FEMAS 24 Standards and is designed to help delegates to successfully implement these within their businesses.

The syllabus includes:
  • The key changes

  • New terminology

  • A review of the changes within each section of the Standard

  • A review of the changes to the Scheme Rules

Certificate of attendance will be sent to delegates on completion of the course.

TASCC Driver CPC Training

Duration: 1 Day

Who should attend: The course is suitable for TASCC Drivers and Transport Managers

Course summary: The course is designed to coincide with the TASCC Standard for Road Haulage and once completed by your drivers they will receive their certificate of training. This certificate can be used at your TASCC, UFAS or FEMAS audit as confirmation that you have successfully completed a TASCC food/feed safety course as required within the AIC schemes. As the certification body for the Trade Assurance Scheme of Combinable Crops (TASCC), Kiwa Training is approved as a DVSA Training Accreditation Centre and approved to deliver a TASCC CPC course for drivers.

This course counts towards 7 hours of your CPC requirements and has been approved by the DVSA Training Accreditation team.

The syllabus includes:

  • Food/Feed Legislation

  • HACCP principles

  • Exclusion/Sensitive materials for carriage

  • Cleaning/ Sanitising of vehicles

  • Loading & Tipping

  • Health, Safety & Risk Assessment at sites

TASCC Participant Update Training

Duration: 1 Day

Who should attend: Technical Managers and personnel who are responsible for compliance with the TASCC Standard and general feed safety.The course would be particularly beneficial to those responsible for quality management systems and ensuring food/feed safety

Course summary: The TASCC scheme has been in place for over 25 years and aims to protect the food industry from contamination between the farm gate and delivery to the feed or food processor.The introduction of the TASCC 2024 Standard has brought a need for training in the new Standard and the changes to requirements.

The syllabus includes:
  • Scheme Rules

  • AIC Schemes/Mutual Recognition

  • Legislation

  • Requirements of the TASCC 2024 Standard within:

    • Haulage

    • Storage & Testing

    • Merchanting

Certificate of attendance will be sent to delegates on completion of the course.

UFAS Participant Update Training

Duration: 1 Day

Who should attend: Technical Managers, Production Managers and site personnel who are responsible for compliance with the UFAS Standard and general feed safety.

The course would be particularly beneficial to those responsible for quality management systems.

Course summary: UFAS (Universal Feed Assurance Scheme) has been in place for over 20 years. It aims to protect human and animal health by ensuring safe practices throughout the feed chain for food producing animals and equines based on HACCP principles.

The introduction of the UFAS 2024 Standard has brought a need for training in the new Standard and the changes to requirements.

The syllabus includes:
  • Scheme Rules

  • Feed Schemes/Mutual Recognition

  • Scope and Activity Classification

  • Legislation

  • Requirements of the UFAS 2024 Standard

Certificate of attendance will be sent to delegates on completion of the course.

Technical Manager, AIC Services

Simon Williams is Technical Manager for AIC Services. He is based at AIC Head Office, Peterborough and is responsible for the management and coordination of the FEMAS and UFAS assurance schemes as well as being the key contact for mutual recognition with European scheme owners and managing Earned Recognition relationships with UK feed and food competent authorities.

Previous to his role with AIC, Simon was employed in a variety of technical roles in the food industry covering primary and further processing of meat, breakfast cereals and a product technologist role with a major retailer.

Sarah-Jane Godfrey

Technical Manager, AIC Services

Sarah-Jane Godfrey is a Technical Manager for AIC Services. She is based at AIC's Peterborough office and is responsible for the support of the assurance schemes as well as the delivery of agri-supply technical projects.

Sarah-Jane brings a wealth of practical experience having held a range of technical, nutritionist and commercial roles during her 25-year career in the animal feed and pet food industry.
