Secretary of State endorses role for agronomists and advisors in new ELM scheme

Following on from the announcement of the Government’s proposed agricultural transition support plan for England, the Secretary of State for Defra George Eustice underlined the role of advisors and agronomists in the new scheme.

Announcing the plan in the House of Commons on Monday 30th November, he added that he wanted to see a move away from bureaucracy and instead towards schemes together between farmers and agronomists or trusted advisors.

The AIC continues to underline the need for advice to be fully accounted for under new ELM schemes, and is part of an existing test and trial project.
