FEMAS Maize Aflatoxin Protocol Update September 2025

AIC, in conjunction with scheme owners EFISC-GTP, GMP+ International, OVOCOM and QS, has revised the Maize Aflatoxin Protocol as detailed below:
  • Slovakia has been increased from LOW to MEDIUM

The new risk rating is to be implemented from 11 September 2025.

As result of these changes the frequency of analysis of maize originating from:

  • Slovakia for Aflatoxin B1 must be increased as per requirements of the Protocol.

Previous to his role with AIC, Simon was employed in a variety of technical roles in the food industry covering primary and further processing of meat, breakfast cereals and a product technologist role with a major retailer.
