- Compound Feed Production: In 2024, the EU-27 produced 147.3 million tonnes of compound feed, a slight increase from 2023.
- Economic Impact: The EU feed sector entered 2025 stable overall, having absorbed prolonged geopolitical disruption, energy volatility and inflationary pressures.
- Country-Specific Trend: Feed production remains stable across the EU, with Ireland and Denmark showing standout growth while major producers such as Spain and France continue to underpin supply.
- Livestock Population: In 2024, the EU-27 livestock population declined further, with cattle numbers down 2.5%, pigs down 0.5%, and sheep and goats down 1.7% from the previous year.
