Call for Nominations: 20 Most Promising Young Plant Breeders in Europe

Seed World Europe has announced the theme for its April 2026 edition of the annual ‘20 Most’ feature: 20 Most Promising Young Plant Breeders in Europe.

This initiative aims to recognise young professionals (aged 30 or younger) who are already making a meaningful impact in plant breeding and represent the future of the European seed sector.

How to nominate:

  • Submit a short text (100–150 words) explaining why your nominee is promising and their vision for the sector

  • Include basic details (name, role, organisation, country)

  • Provide a high-resolution portrait photo (minimum 1 MB)

Nominations can be submitted via email ([email protected]) or fill out the nomination on the dedicated website,

Deadline: 1 February 2026.

You are welcome to submit multiple nominations, but please note that in the final list of 20, a maximum of one nominee per organisation (subsidiaries included) will be included.

Based on the submissions received, Seed World Europe will select the final 20. Where a nomination is chosen, the editorial team will prepare the final text, which will of course be shared with you for verification and approval prior to publication.

For background and inspiration, previous editions of the ‘20 Most’ series can be found on the Seed World Europe website.
