AIC Welcomes Julian Sturdy as Chair of Red Tractor Combinable Crops & Sugar Beet Sector Board
The Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) welcomes the appointment of Julian Sturdy as Chair of Red Tractor’s Combinable Crops & Sugar Beet Sector Board.
Julian brings relevant experience to the role, both as a long-standing arable farmer managing a 750-acre enterprise in North Yorkshire and as a former Member of Parliament who chaired the Science and Technology in Agriculture Committee.He notably hosted AIC’s 20th anniversary reception in September 2023, which brought together policymakers and industry representatives to highlight the role of agri-supply in supporting UK food and farming.
AIC Chief Executive Robert Sheasby said: “We welcome Julian Sturdy’s appointment to this position within Red Tractor. His combination of practical farming knowledge and policy insight is expected to support the sector effectively. We look forward to working with him to help ensure the assurance scheme continues to provide value and maintain trust across the supply chain.”
