Members of Parliament and Peers from across the political spectrum heard about a range of innovations and opportunities in the UK's agri-supply industry at a Westminster meeting last week (22 March).

AIC was at Portcullis House in London to share the feed sector's latest developments on sustainability and net zero with the All Parliamentary Party Group for Science and Technology in Agriculture, which includes more than 60 MPs and Peers from the ConservativesLabour, Liberal Democrats, and Plaid Cymru, as well as cross benchers.

The Group heard from AIC's Head of Policy and External Affairs Ed Barker and Head of Feed James McCulloch about how the sector is contributing to net zero targets.

Members heard about a number of promising innovations, including developing technologies for insect bio-conversion and the use of former foodstuffs in livestock feed.

Views on tackling key sustainability challenges for the industry were also discussed, with a focus on standards metrics to assess progress.
