After consultation with its veterinary committee, and based on the latest tests conducted by the Animal Health Trust, the British Horseracing Authority’s Chief Regulatory Officer, Brant Dunshea, confirmed last night that racing could resume, but only with strict biosecurity controls in place.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) have asked AIC to circulate the attached letter, and ask that feed businesses who have exported feed containing products of animal origin (POAO) to EU countries provide the information requested by 4th March 2019.

F19-006 FEMAS 2019 Revised launch Schedule 31 Jan 2019
AIC had previously announced that the FEMAS 2019 Standard would be implemented from 1 st February 2019. Unfortunately to allow for sufficient time to finalise the revised Standard and for the Certification Body participants to prepare for its implementation, it has become necessary to delay the first audits to FEMAS 2019 until 1 st May 2019.
F19-005 Call for Salmonella/ Entero in poultry feed data from Animal and Plant Health Agency 28 Jan 2019
The Animal and Plant Health Agency ( APHA ) are conducting a research project into Salmonella in broiler poultry production, and are seeking microbiological data relating Enterobacteriaceae counts from feed mills. The data will be used to establish a baseline for hygiene monitoring in feed mills and to see the relationship, if any, with Salmonella results.
