This animation explains what AIC is and the work of Grain and Oilseed sector Members, from monitoring the production and distribution of grain and oilseeds for global food and fuel markets, to quality assurance throughout the supply chain.

Merchants monitor global and domestic supply and demand for arable crops, with domestic surpluses able to be exported.

The UK climate means that certain quality grain and oilseeds need to be imported. When domestic crops down meet size or quality specifications, additional imports may be necessary to cover any shortfalls.
