G19-028 COMPETITION LAW COMPLIANCE TRAINING REMINDER 22 May 2019

LAST CHANCE TO BOOK THIS IMPORTANT TRAINING TAKING PLACE ON 19TH JUNE 2019 | Following the success of the very popular Competition Law Compliance training events run in February and March, AIC is pleased to be able to offer those Members who missed out or those who would like to update their knowledge on this key subject, a further opportunity to participate in tjhe training taking place on 19th June 2019 .  The importance of this subject cannot be emphasised enough and will be of particular interest and relevance to Members who participate in Committees, Groups and/or open forum meetings where competitors may be present.

Members often comment that more should be done to promote understanding of food production and industry’s role in feeding, protecting, assuring, trading a secure supply of quality crops and animal products. Pressure groups and media do little to help the current or next generation to appreciate the science behind farming and managing natural resources.

G19-024 Countryside Stewardship Mid Tier Introductory Events - Spaces available 15 May 2019

AIC has been asked to promote the remaining Mid tier Countryside Stewardship introductory events for the East and South East. These workshops, which are run across England, are aimed at farmers, advisers and land managers and will give an overview of this years scheme.

G19-023 AIC provides a response to UK wide plastic and packaging consultations 13 May 2019

  | Further to the notice (G19-011) advising members of the two UK wide Government consultations on i) introducing a tax on plastics and ii) reforming the existing UK Packaging Producer Responsibility System , AIC has been working with the NFU and the Food and Drink Federation to produce draft responses which are attached for your interest and further comment.

G19-021 Environmental Land Management Scheme – AIC call for case studies 08 May 2019

AIC are seeking member support to develop farm adviser case studies which can help with the design of the new scheme | As has been reported previously ( G19-007 ) as part of the transition away from the Common Agricultural Policy, Defra has announced the phasing out of the current Basic Payment and Agri-Environment schemes between 2021 thorough until 2027.
