The Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) manifesto sets out the aims of our members and their commitment to working in collaboration with others in the agricultural and food supply chain.  This document addresses the challenge of change in the areas of food safety, a sustainable food supply, environmental management, technological innovation, and the maintenance of a competitive advantage through modern commercial agriculture.

Through its member companies, the Confederation represents inputs to agriculture of £6.5 billion. AIC brings together associations representing key sectors of the agricultural trades and supply industries, including the UK's animal feeds, certified seed trade, grain, oilseed, pulses, fertiliser, crop protection and agronomy sectors. Combined with our trade assurance scheme members, ranging from small family businesses to multi nationals, we speak for more than 1300 companies. We do so with an authority based on expertise and a wide knowledge of the demands being placed upon the industries in a rapidly changing environment.

Our 6-point manifesto has been developed in consultation with our members. It is our platform for change and for supporting the agricultural production this country will need, if it is to prosper in the enlarged European Community and successfully compete with the rest of the world. Central to success is the promotion and management of our quality assurance schemes and the drive for national food safety.
