AIC devised a cost effective scheme to enable AIC members and non members to comply with changes to the The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations.

Active participation in, and promotion of the Voluntary Initiative (V.I.) has saved the industry an estimated £625 million. This is the estimated cost of a pesticide tax over five years, had it been imposed. The V.I. has also demonstrated that voluntary measures are much more effective in achieving best practice compared to regulatory measures.
